HOW IT WORKS

1
INTERVIEW
- We find an employer who is willing to sponsor you in your nominated occupation.
- We attend interviews with prospective employers and obtain a job offer.
2
SPONSORSHIP
- Your Australian employer will need to be approved as a Temporary Sponsored Skilled (TSS) Business Sponsor by the Department of Home Affairs to authorize them to sponsor skilled international candidates.
- The sponsor company must be actively and lawfully operating in Australia.
- The successful sponsor must provide evidence of fair workplace relations policy and compliance with corporate regulations/ obligations as an employer in Australia.

3
NOMINATION
- The Department of Home Affairs must subsequently approve a Nomination application for the position that is to be filled.
- The nominated position must be paid a comparative industry salary (indicating that the salary is ‘market rate’ and also above the minimum current threshold salary - $53,900 plus superannuation).
- Each occupation is categorized to be either a Short term demand (STSOL) list or Medium/Long Term demand (MLTSSL) list occupation. Depending on which list the nominated occupation falls, will determine whether it is eligible for a two or four year visa in the first instance.
- Some occupations have a specific minimum salary as an ‘inapplicability condition’ requirement.
- The occupation must be listed as a suitable occupation and assessed to be a genuine position.
- Labour market testing must be carried out and caveats may apply.
- Payment for the relevant Skilling Australia Fund (SAF) training levy must be paid by the Sponsor at the time of lodgement of the Nomination application. This levy contribution goes toward training Australian citizens and permanent residents.
4
VISA APPLICATION
- The nominee lodges a Subclass 482 visa application to fill the relevant position.
- The nominee must prove that he/she has the required English language skills (average 5, minimum
score of 4.5 for each test component for IELTS). - Evidence of suitable qualifications must be provided (e.g. Diploma or Tertiary level qualification).
- Evidence of appropriate registration or licencing to work in the nominated occupation in Australia
must be provided, where required. - The nominee must prove at least two years of relevant employment experience in the nominated occupation.

5
DEPARTURE
- Visa holders must comply with the conditions of any visas granted to them, including departing Australia before the expiry of their visa.
- If you have been granted a visa for an occupation on the MLTSSL, you may be eligible to apply for another Subclass 482 visa or permanent residence.
- If your nominated occupation is on the STSOL, you may still be able to apply for a second Subclass 482 visa without having to depart Australia.
- We recommend you obtaining advice as to your visa status before departing Australia.

TEACHING
ROLESAspiring applicants are often surprised to learn that post-qualification work experience in teaching isn’t actually a prerequisite for eligibility, but it can help due to the points criteria required for an Australia visa application.
